Visual Description
Based on observations of specimens in the TreeOfLife-200M dataset, Artemita bellardii exhibits a robust, compact body form typical of many soldier flies.[1] The thorax and abdomen are covered in dense, somewhat coarse, dark-colored pubescence. The eyes are prominent and dark, and the overall coloration of the body appears to be a dark, metallic or brownish-black hue. The wings are membranous and extend beyond the posterior end of the abdomen.[1]
