Based on observations from the TreeOfLife-200M dataset, members of the genus Aristobatina exhibit the characteristic stilt-legged morphology typical of the family Micropezidae.[1] They possess notably elongated, slender legs and a slender, elongated abdomen. The body exhibits a distinct, elongated form, with the wings often held in a characteristic position along the body when at rest.[1]
General Information
Aristobatina is a genus of flies within the family Micropezidae, formally described by Verbeke in 1951.[2] The genus was established as part of the study on Taeniapterinae.[2] It is currently recognized as an accepted genus.[3]
