Visual Description
Specimens of Argyromoeba exhibit a robust, bee-like body form characteristic of many members of the family Bombyliidae. Observations of preserved specimens indicate a dense covering of setae (hairs) across the thorax and abdomen, which often form distinct patterns or bands of coloration. The wings are typically broad and may feature dark, mottled, or patterned pigmentation, particularly near the base and along the anterior margin. The head is relatively small in proportion to the thorax, with large, prominent compound eyes.[1]
