Occurrence in Baltoscandian Early Palaeozoic stromatoporoid communities
A regional community framework for Early Palaeozoic stromatoporoids in the Baltoscandian area is presented by Nestor (1999), tying community composition to depositional settings and benthic assemblage units (Standard Benthic Assemblages after Boucot).[2]
Within the Clathrodictyon variolare Community (middle to late Llandovery; corresponding to BA3–BA4 open-shelf interval in the paper’s framework), Ecclimadictyon arcuatum is listed among clathrodictyid and related characteristic taxa.[2]
In the Estonian part of the study area, the paper places this community in nodular biomicritic limestones of the Rumba Formation (Adavere Stage), with tempestitic interlayers and scattered shells of Pentamerus oblongus as lithological context for the community occurrence where the taxon is considered to appear in the sequence.[2]
