Arctoconopa forcipata exhibits the characteristic morphology of a crane fly, featuring a slender, elongated body and long, delicate legs. Observations from preserved specimens indicate a dark-colored thorax and abdomen, with wings that are relatively clear and marked by distinct, thin venation patterns.[1]
Arctoconopa forcipata was originally described by the entomologist Lundström in 1915 under the basionym Psiloconopa forcipata.[2] It is currently recognized as an accepted species within the genus Arctoconopa.[2]
