Archipialea
Archipialea is a genus of small-headed flies in the family Acroceridae, belonging to the subfamily Panopinae.[1] The genus was described by Evert I. Schlinger in 1973.[2] Archipialea is considered endemic to Chile.[1]

Visual Description
Based on specimens from the TreeOfLife-200M dataset, members of the genus Archipialea exhibit the characteristic small-headed morphology typical of the family Acroceridae.[3] The flies possess a robust, somewhat globular thorax and a distinctively shaped abdomen.[3] The antennae are inserted between the middle of the frons or slightly below it, and the eyes are holoptic above the antennal insertion.[1] The ocellar triangle is only slightly elevated.[1]
