The species Archiconops erythrocephalus is a member of the family Conopidae. Archiconops erythrocephalus was originally described by the entomologist Johan Christian Fabricius in 1794 under the name Conops erythrocephala.[2] It is currently recognized as an accepted species within the genus Archiconops.[2]
