Based on observations from the TreeOfLife-200M dataset, members of the genus Archiconops exhibit a slender, elongated body form characteristic of many conopid flies.[1] The abdomen is notably constricted at the base, and the insects possess prominent, compound eyes that occupy a significant portion of the head.[1]
General Information
Archiconops is a genus of flies within the family Conopidae. It was described by K.G.V. Smith in 1975.[2]
