Visual Description
Aquachasma incisum is a species of shore fly within the family Ephydridae. Morphological details are difficult to resolve from available digital records; however, as a member of the family Ephydridae, it shares the general body plan of small, often dark-colored flies commonly found in aquatic or semi-aquatic habitats.[1]
History and Classification
The species was originally described by D.W. Coquillett in 1902 under the name Discocerina incisa.[2] It is currently recognized as an accepted species within the genus Aquachasma.[2]
