Visual Description
Aprionus subbetulae is a species of gall midge within the family Cecidomyiidae. While specific morphological details are difficult to resolve from the available dataset images, the genus Aprionus is generally characterized by small, delicate body forms typical of the family.[1]
Biology and Classification
Aprionus subbetulae was described by entomologist Mathias Jaschhof in 2015.[2] The species is part of the Aprionus flavidus group, and its description was published in the context of a review of that group, which included new species closely related to Aprionus betulae.[2]
