Aprionus pigmentalis is a species of wood midge within the family Cecidomyiidae. It was described by the entomologist B.M. Mamaev in 1998.[2]
Based on observations from the TreeOfLife-200M dataset, specimens of Aprionus pigmentalis exhibit the characteristic delicate, slender body form typical of the Cecidomyiidae family.[1] The insects possess long, thread-like antennae and relatively large, transparent wings with reduced venation, which are common morphological traits among wood midges.[1]
