Visual Description
Apolephthisa species, such as A. subincana, are small, delicate flies characteristic of the family Mycetophilidae. Observations from the TreeOfLife-200M dataset reveal a slender, elongated body form typical of fungus gnats.[1] The specimens exhibit long, thin legs and prominent, multi-segmented antennae. Ecology and Distribution
Apolephthisa is a genus of fungus gnats within the family Mycetophilidae.[2] Research conducted in the Białowieża National Park, Poland, has documented the presence of Apolephthisa subincana in linden-oak-hornbeam (Tilio-Carpinetum) forest habitats.[3]
