Visual Description
Apodacra radchenkoi is a fly characterized by a robust, typical sarcophagid body form. Observations of specimens from the TreeOfLife-200M dataset reveal a distinct, patterned thorax featuring longitudinal dark stripes against a lighter, often greyish or silvery background.[1] The abdomen exhibits a characteristic checkered or tessellated pattern, common among many members of the Miltogramminae, created by alternating light and dark patches that shift in appearance depending on the angle of light.[1]
Distribution and Taxonomy
Apodacra radchenkoi was described by Verves and Khrokalo in 2015.[2] The species is placed within the subtribe Apodacrina, part of the subfamily Miltogramminae.[2] The original description was published as part of a review of the subtribe Apodacrina, which included the description of this species from Turkey.[2]
