Aploparaksis furcigera
Taxonomy
Aploparaksis furcigera is a species of tapeworm belonging to the family Hymenolepididae within the order Cyclophyllidea. As a member of the genus Aploparaksis, it is part of a group of cestodes known to be widespread parasites of birds. A taxonomic revision conducted in 2018 confirmed the validity of A. furcigera as one of 58 recognized species within the genus.[1][2][3]
Visual Description
The specimens appear as thin, dark, thread-like structures when mounted on microscope slides.
