Aploparaksis brachyphallos
Taxonomy
Aploparaksis brachyphallos is a species of tapeworm belonging to the family Hymenolepididae within the order Cyclophyllidea. It is one of 58 valid species recognized within the genus Aploparaksis, a group of widespread parasites that infect various bird species. Specimens of this tapeworm are maintained in the collections of the Natural History Museum of Denmark.[1][2]
Visual Description
The specimen appears as a stained, yellowish-orange, segmented body under microscopic examination. The strobila exhibits an undulating structure, with distinct circular features visible within the segments, characteristic of cestode reproductive anatomy.
