Description
Aplomya metallica (Wiedemann, 1824) is a species of fly belonging to the family Tachinidae [2]. It is known by several synonyms, including Tachina nigriventris Wiedemann, 1824; Tachina notata Wiedemann, 1830; Tachina socia Wiedemann, 1830; Phorocera eucalypta Loew, 1852; Parexorista laeviventris Wulp, 1893; and Tricholyga impexa Villeneuve, 1916 [2].
Distribution
The species has a widespread distribution across the Afrotropical and Oriental realms. It has also been recorded in the Palaearctic realm, with occurrences in countries such as Egypt, Israel, Japan, and China [2]. In Egypt, it has been documented in the Upper Nile Valley (Asswan) [2].
