Visual Description
Apiophora quadricinctata is a species within the family Mydidae. Based on observations of preserved specimens and field images, the species exhibits a robust, elongated body characteristic of many mydids. The abdomen is notably marked with distinct transverse bands, which are visible in the sampled imagery.[1] The wings are typically clear or slightly tinted, and the antennae are prominent, as is common in the family.[1]
Distribution and Classification
Apiophora quadricinctata was described by Artigas and Palma in 1979.[2] It is recognized as an accepted species within the genus Apiophora.[2]
