Apiocera victoriae is a species of fly within the family Apioceridae. Based on observations of preserved specimens from the TreeOfLife-200M dataset, the species exhibits a slender, elongated body typical of the genus.[1] The specimens display a distinct, tapering abdomen and well-developed wings that extend beyond the abdominal tip. The thorax and abdomen are covered in fine, dense pubescence, which is a characteristic feature of many apiocerids.[1]
Apiocera victoriae was described by the entomologist S.J. Paramonov in 1953.[2] The species was formally established in his review of Australian Apioceridae, published in the Australian Journal of Zoology.[2]
