Apiocera minor is a species of fly within the family Apioceridae. Based on observations from the TreeOfLife-200M dataset, individuals exhibit a characteristic elongated, slender body form typical of the family. The specimens display a distinct, tapering abdomen and prominent, forward-projecting mouthparts. The coloration is generally muted, featuring shades of brown and grey, which may provide camouflage in their natural habitat. The wings are relatively long and clear, extending beyond the tip of the abdomen in some views.[1]
Apiocera minor was described by K.R. Norris in 1936.[2] The species is recognized as an accepted name within the genus Apiocera.[2] The original description was published in the Journal of the Royal Society of Western Australia.[2]
