Based on observations from the TreeOfLife-200M dataset, Apiocera interrupta exhibits the characteristic morphology of the family Apioceridae.[1] The specimens display an elongated, slender body form typical of flower-loving flies. The wings are clear and held in a characteristic position, often extending beyond the tip of the abdomen. The head features prominent, large compound eyes and a distinct proboscis. The thorax and abdomen are covered in fine, dense setae, contributing to a somewhat fuzzy appearance.[1]
