Distribution and Ecology
Apiloscatopse flavicollis (Meigen, 1818) is a West-Palaearctic species.[2] It is frequently encountered throughout Europe and is known to be common in forested areas, particularly during the autumn months.[2] Like other members of the genus Apiloscatopse, this species may exhibit mass occurrences.[2] It has been recorded in Northern Italy and was reported from Sardinia based on collections from the Marganai area.[2]
