Aphrosylus ferox is a species of fly within the family Dolichopodidae. Based on observations from the TreeOfLife-200M dataset, individuals exhibit the characteristic slender, elongated body form typical of many dolichopodids.[1] The specimens display metallic or dark-toned coloration on the thorax and abdomen, and possess long, thin legs adapted for their environment.[1]
Biology and Distribution
Aphrosylus ferox was described by the Irish entomologist Alexander Henry Haliday in 1851.[2] It is a member of the family Dolichopodidae, commonly known as long-legged flies.[3]
