A complete mitochondrial genome has been reported for Aphrocallistes vastus, including a circular 17,427 bp mtDNA molecule with 13 protein-coding genes, divergent large and small rRNAs, and a reduced tRNA complement.[3]
The study reports sequence features in mitochondrial genes consistent with programmed translational frameshifting, including shift sites interpreted as +1 frameshifting associated with cox3 and nad6.[3]
