Aphoebantus chilensis is a species of bee fly within the family Bombyliidae. Observations of specimens from the TreeOfLife-200M dataset reveal a robust, hairy body typical of many bombyliids.[1] The body exhibits a dense covering of setae, which often appear brownish or yellowish in coloration. The wings are generally clear or slightly infuscated, and the venation is characteristic of the genus Aphoebantus.[1]
Aphoebantus chilensis was described by J.C. Hall in 1976.[2] The species is documented in the scientific literature as part of the Bombyliidae fauna of Chile.[2]
