Apharyngostrigea cornu is a species of trematode (fluke) belonging to the phylum Platyhelminthes, class Trematoda, order Diplostomida, and family Strigeidae.[1]
Visual Description
Specimens of Apharyngostrigea cornu are characterized by a distinct, curved or C-shaped body morphology. The anterior portion of the body is typically bulbous and darker in appearance, while the posterior region is broader and more robust or elongated. Internal anatomical structures appear as darker, granular regions within the translucent body of the fluke. Specimens are generally observed at a scale of approximately 500 µm.
