Observations of specimens from the TreeOfLife-200M dataset reveal a notably thin, cylindrical abdomen and long, delicate legs.[1] The coloration observed in these specimens is predominantly light, consistent with the specific epithet flaventis (meaning yellowish).[1]
Apachekolos flaventis was described by Scarbrough and Pérez-Gelabert in 2005.[2] It is recognized as a member of the leptogastrine robber flies found in Hispaniola.[2]
