Anzomyia is a genus of horse flies in the family Tabanidae. It was described by Bryan D. Lessard and David K. Yeates in 2012.[2] The genus includes species found in Australia and New Zealand.[2]
Based on observations of preserved specimens, Anzomyia flies exhibit a robust, typical tabanid body form. The head is prominent with large, compound eyes. The thorax and abdomen are covered in dense, often patterned pubescence, which can obscure finer cuticular details. The wings are generally clear or lightly infuscated, with characteristic venation typical of the subfamily Pangoniinae.[1]
