The body coloration is generally muted, consistent with the specific epithet cinereus (meaning ash-colored or gray). The wings are typically clear or lightly tinted, extending beyond the tip of the abdomen.[1]
Antillonerius cinereus was originally described by Victor von Röder in 1885 as Nerius cinereus, based on specimens from Puerto Rico.[2] It is currently recognized as an accepted species within the genus Antillonerius.[2]
