Overview
Anticheta canadensis (Curran, 1923) is a species of fly belonging to the family Sciomyzidae, commonly known as snail-killing flies.[2] The species was originally described by C.H. Curran in 1923 as Pteromicra canadensis.[2]
Visual Description
Based on observations of available specimens, Anticheta canadensis exhibits the general body form characteristic of the genus Anticheta.[1] The flies possess slender, elongated bodies typical of many sciomyzids.[1] Due to the limitations of the available photographic material, finer morphological details such as specific wing venation patterns or setal arrangements cannot be definitively resolved.[1]
