The wings are generally clear or lightly patterned, consistent with the general appearance of sciomyzid flies.[1]
Anticheta atriseta was described by Hermann Loew in 1849.[2] Research into the genus Anticheta has included studies on the life history and immature stages of its species.[3] Ecological data indicates that this species is part of biotic interactions, including being preyed upon by various organisms such as the fish Barbus caninus and birds like Aegithalos caudatus and Passer italiae.[4]
