Anthrax emarginatus is a species of bee fly belonging to the family Bombyliidae. While specific morphological details are difficult to resolve from the available dataset imagery, members of the genus Anthrax are generally characterized by their robust, often hairy bodies and distinct wing patterns, which are frequently marked with dark, opaque patches.[1]
Anthrax emarginatus was described by the entomologist Pierre-Justin-Marie Macquart in 1840.[2] It is currently recognized as an accepted species within the genus Anthrax.[2]
