Anthrax asciculus is a species of bee fly within the family Bombyliidae. Based on examination of preserved specimens, individuals exhibit the characteristic robust, hairy body form typical of many members of the genus Anthrax.[1] The specimens display patterned wings, a common feature in this genus, and a dense covering of setae on the thorax and abdomen.[1]
Anthrax asciculus was described by Yeates and Lambkin in 1998.[2] The species is recognized as an accepted taxon within the genus Anthrax.[2]
