Visual Description
Anthomyza trifurca is a member of the Anthomyza bellatrix group, a lineage within the genus Anthomyza that is restricted to eastern Asia.[2] Members of this group are characterized by a pair of whitish-grey microtomentose stripes on the occiput and a dorsally flattened scutellum.[2] The thoracic macrosetae are long but thin.[2] In males, the hind femur (f3) possesses a row of shortened, thickened posteroventral setae.[2]
Distribution
Anthomyza trifurca is known to occur in China, Japan, North Korea, and South Korea.[2]
