Anthomyza pleuralis is a small fly characteristic of the family Anthomyzidae. Based on observations of specimens in the TreeOfLife-200M dataset, the species exhibits a slender, elongated body form typical of the genus.[1] The wings are relatively long and narrow, often held in a characteristic overlapping position over the abdomen when at rest.[1]
Classification and History
Anthomyza pleuralis was described by the entomologist Leander Czerny in 1928.[2] It is an accepted species within the genus Anthomyza.[2]
