Description
Anthomyza pengellyi is a species of fly within the family Anthomyzidae. It was formally described by entomologists Jindřich Roháček and Kevin N. Barber in 2016 as part of their monograph on Nearctic Anthomyzidae.[2]
Visual Description
Based on observations of museum specimens in the TreeOfLife-200M dataset, Anthomyza pengellyi exhibits the characteristic slender, elongated body form typical of the family Anthomyzidae.[1] The specimens display narrow, elongated wings that are held folded over the abdomen when at rest, and the head features prominent, forward-directed antennae.[1]
