Anthomyza anderssoni is a small, slender fly characteristic of the family Anthomyzidae. Observations of preserved specimens from the TreeOfLife-200M dataset reveal a body structure typical of the genus, featuring a narrow, elongated abdomen and relatively long, slender legs. The wings are clear and appear long in proportion to the body, extending beyond the tip of the abdomen. The thorax and abdomen exhibit a brownish coloration, consistent with the general appearance of many species within the Anthomyza gracilis-group.[1]
Anthomyza anderssoni was described by the entomologist Jindřich Roháček in 1984.[2] It is recognized as a distinct species within the Anthomyza gracilis-group, a complex of closely related Palaearctic flies.[2]
