Visual Description
The species Anthomyia xanthopyga is a member of the family Anthomyiidae. Due to the limitations of the available photographic records, specific morphological traits such as detailed wing venation or fine setal patterns cannot be definitively resolved from the current dataset imagery.[1]
Classification and History
Anthomyia xanthopyga was originally described by Albuquerque in 1959 under the basionym Hylemyia xanthopyga.[2] It is currently recognized as an accepted species within the genus Anthomyia.[2]
