Visual Description
Anthomyia avisignata exhibits the characteristic body form of the family Anthomyiidae. Observations from photographic records indicate a fly with a robust, dark-colored thorax and abdomen, often featuring distinct, contrasting patterns typical of the genus Anthomyia. Ecology and Distribution
Anthomyia avisignata was described by Masaaki Suwa in 1987.[2] This species has been documented in Japan, where it has been recorded in association with bird nests.[3]
