Anopheles superpictus is a mosquito species. Based on examination of museum specimens, the adult form exhibits typical culicid morphology, including slender legs, a pair of wings, and a prominent proboscis.[1]
Anopheles superpictus (s.l.) is recognized as a widespread malaria vector in Iran, found in both malaria-endemic and non-endemic areas.[2] Ecological niche modeling suggests that annual precipitation is a critical environmental variable influencing its distribution.[2]
