Based on observations of preserved museum specimens, Anopheles rhodesiensis exhibits the characteristic slender, long-legged body form typical of the genus Anopheles. The specimens display a dark, elongated thorax and abdomen, with wings that are narrow and held in a position characteristic of the family. The legs are notably long and thin, consistent with the general morphology of culicid mosquitoes.[1]
Anopheles rhodesiensis has been identified in surveys of mosquito populations, including studies of dry season occurrence in Ethiopia. In these environments, larvae have been collected from various surface water sources, such as streams, ponds, and swamps.[2]
