Visual Description
Anopheles flavirostris is a mosquito species. In preserved specimens, the body exhibits a slender, elongated form typical of the family Culicidae. The specimens observed are small, with dark-colored, segmented bodies and distinct, thin, jointed appendages.[1]
Malaria Vector Status
Anopheles flavirostris is recognized as one of the 19 dominant malaria vector species (DVS) in the Asia-Pacific region.[2] It is associated with specific malaria epidemiology zones, including the Malaysian zone.[2]
