Distribution and Ecology
Anopheles eiseni has a broad historical distribution across Central and South America, extending north to southern Mexico and south to Pará, Brazil.[2] It has also been reported in Amazonian Brazil, Bolivia, and Central America.[2]
In a study conducted in Ecuador between 2008 and 2010, larvae were collected at three high-altitude sites, ranging from 1,206 to 1,873 m, on the coastal side of the Andes.[2] This finding confirms the presence of the species in highland regions.[2]
