Anomioptera is a genus of flies in the family Sphaeroceridae. It was described by the entomologist Ignaz Rudolph Schiner in 1868.[1]

Based on observations of preserved specimens, Anomioptera exhibits the characteristic body plan of the family Sphaeroceridae.[2] The specimens display a compact, sclerotized thorax and abdomen typical of small acalyptrate flies. The wings are well-developed, showing the characteristic venation patterns used in sphaerocerid identification, and the legs are robust, adapted for their characteristic crawling behavior.[2]
