Description
Anisia flaveola is a species of fly in the family Tachinidae. It was originally described by the entomologist Daniel William Coquillett in 1897 as Hypostena flaveola.[2]
Visual Description
Based on observations of museum specimens in the TreeOfLife-200M dataset, Anisia flaveola exhibits the characteristic body form of a tachinid fly.[1] The specimens show a robust thorax and abdomen typical of the family, with visible setation (bristles) on the body surface. The coloration appears generally yellowish or light brown, consistent with the specific epithet flaveola. Due to the nature of the preserved specimens, finer morphological details such as wing venation patterns or specific head structures are difficult to resolve in these images.[1]
