General Information
Angarotipula is a genus of crane flies within the family Tipulidae. It was described by Savchenko in 1961.[2] The genus comprises approximately fourteen described species globally, with seven species known to occur in China.[3]
Visual Description
Based on observations from the TreeOfLife-200M dataset, members of the genus Angarotipula exhibit the characteristic slender, elongated body form typical of crane flies.[1] They possess long, fragile-looking legs and prominent, multi-veined wings. The body coloration often includes patterns of brown, tan, or yellowish tones, which may provide camouflage in their natural habitats.[1]
