Androprosopa melanderi (Arnaud & Boussy, 1994) is a species of midge within the family Thaumaleidae, commonly referred to as seepage or trickle midges.[2] The species was originally described as Thaumalea melanderi.[2]
The genus Androprosopa is one of seven recognized genera in the family Thaumaleidae and is distributed across the Nearctic, Palaearctic, and Oriental regions.[3] Members of the family Thaumaleidae are typically found in madicolous habitats, such as rock-face seepages and the margins of cascading streams.[3]
