Andrenosoma cinctum is a species of robber fly within the family Asilidae. While specific morphological details could not be resolved from the available dataset imagery, members of the genus Andrenosoma are generally characterized by their robust, often bee-like appearance, which is a common form of Batesian mimicry in this group.[1]
Andrenosoma cinctum was described by the Italian entomologist Luigi Bellardi in 1861 in his work Saggio di ditterologia messicana.[2] It is currently recognized as an accepted species within the genus Andrenosoma.[2]
