The species Andrenosoma albolineatum is a member of the family Asilidae (robber flies). While specific morphological traits could not be resolved from the available dataset imagery, members of the genus Andrenosoma are generally characterized by their robust, often bee-like appearance, which is a form of Batesian mimicry.[1]
Andrenosoma albolineatum was originally described by the French entomologist Pierre-Justin-Marie Macquart in 1850, under the basionym Laphria albolineata.[2] It is currently recognized as an accepted species within the genus Andrenosoma.[2]
