Visual Description
Andrenosoma albibarbe is a species of robber fly (family Asilidae). Based on observations from the TreeOfLife-200M dataset, the species exhibits a robust, hairy appearance typical of the genus.[1] The body is characterized by dense, often pale or whitish setation, particularly on the face and thorax, which contributes to its specific epithet albibarbe (meaning "white-bearded"). The abdomen is generally dark, sometimes with metallic reflections, and is covered in fine hairs.
Distribution and Ecology
Andrenosoma albibarbe is a robber fly species belonging to the subfamily Laphriinae.[2] It is considered a transpalaearctic species.[2] In Russia, it has been recorded in the Republic of Mordovia, specifically within the Mordovia State Nature Reserve (Temnikov district) and the Ardatov district.[2]
