Visual Description
Ancala africana is a robust fly typical of the family Tabanidae. Ancala africana (Gray, 1832) is a recognized species within the family Tabanidae.[2] It has been documented in various grazing areas, such as those in the Nicoadala District of Mozambique, where it was found alongside other tabanid species.[3]
In studies investigating the transmission of trypanosomosis, Ancala africana specimens were collected but did not test positive for Trypanosoma infection.[3]
